Main Street Program
The Kent Downtown Partnership is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the National and State Main Street Program, which was founded by the National Trust of Historic Preservation in 1977. The main purpose of this organization is to restore and revitalize the "downtown" core of the city.
To accomplish our goals, the KDP follows the Four Points of the Main Street program - Organization, Design, Promotion, and Economic Development. We receive some government funding; however, we rely mostly on volunteers and private contributors to carry out our vision and mission for downtown Kent.
National Trust for Historic Preservation
The National Trust for Historic Preservation is a private, nonprofit membership organization dedicated to saving historic places and revitalizing America's communities. The Trust was founded in 1949 and provides leadership, education, advocacy, and resources to protect irreplaceable places that tell America's story.
